Hilary Duff Is A Doll

Hilary Duff Doll.jpgHilary Duff is a great girl. She is natural, smart and very appealing. She loves fashion and isn’t afraid to try new things. She may be a famous actress but she hasn’t let it get to her head; which is why so many fans love her. Is it any wonder that Mattel chose her to become a part of their collection?

No, Mattel isn’t sticking her in the cardboard box. They are, however, definitely releasing 12 inch versions of the star of Lizzie Maguire.The red sashed, polka dot dressed Red Carpet Glam Hilary Duff Doll will be available for her fans to bring home this month.

Hilary Duff isn’t the first Hollywood star to be made into Barbie sized figures. She joins the ranks of Reese Witherspoon, Beyonce and Lucille Ball. She is definitely in good company.

Jamie Wood, vice president of Mattel’s Barbie marketing, said in a statement that Barbie and Hilary Duff are:

“great role models to girls and the perfect design duo. Not only are they two of the most stylish entertainers, actors and fashion designers, but they also show girls there are no limits to what they can do.”

Hollywood Has Become Splitsville

The general public knows that in spite of the fame and fortune, happy ever after isn’t easily acquired in Hollywood. In a town full of actors, it must be difficult to separate the fantasy from the reality. Most marriages that meet or start on set end up on the divorce lane.

Here is a list of the celebrity divorces that mark the year 2006:

Kate Hudson and husband rocker Chris Robinson called it quits early this year. Her advice to all couples thinking of getting married: “Don’t get married if you think it will be a fairy tale’.

Another actress/musician relationship to go down the drain: Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora (guitarist of Bon Jovi). Class act that she is, Heather Locklear stayed quiet about everything even as former friend, Denise Richards, flaunted her affair with Sambora.

Carmen Electra and guitarist Dave Navarro also belong to the list of actress/ musician marriages that didn’t last. The end came after they had a reality show about their marriage.

jsimpson.jpgHmmm…that does seem to cause marriage failure – having a reality show about your marriage. That sure seems to be the case with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Looks like he couldn’t take it when her career boomed while his sunk out of sight.

spears-federline.jpgNo surprise that Britney Spears filed for divorce. It was pretty much on the cards when you title your reality TV show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. It was a good day for Britney Spears when she finally woke up to reality.

Whitney Houston too finally woke up and got rid of Bobby Brown this year. It took her a long time but at least she’s finally out from under. Hopefully things will be better for her now.

witherspoon.jpgOf course, there are many reasons why couples split up. One reason is when the women become the breadwinner and earn ridiculously bigger amounts than the men. Women really do prefer it if their husbands earn better than they do. Examples of couples that break up of this: Academy Award winner Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe, and recent surprise Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe.

The biggest and messiest divorce of the year so far though is that of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills. She’s even dragging his first wife into it and she’s no longer alive!

Cellphones banned On Set

Reese Witherspoon is taking all precautions to make her divorce as neat and clean as possible. While she cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for filing for divorce from husband of seven years, Ryan Phillippe, she knows that people aren’t above speculating that it is because her affections may have been captured by another actor – after all it happens all the time in Hollywood; just look at Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It was a big surprise to many that this couple joined splitsville.

To lessen the risk of messy rumors, she has banned all cellphones from the set while she works. Currently she is filming the movie “Renditions” which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal. Too many people have camera phones and itchy fingers – they will send pictures taken from the shoot to local tabloids which are really of no help during proceedings as painful as these. Rumors are already flying that she and Gyllenhaal have a “budding friendship” which in Hollywood often translates to an affair or ongoing romance.

Witherspoon, truly doesn’t want a mess like Paul McCartney and Heather Mills or Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. She just wants to get the divorce over and done with as quickly and quietly as possible. That isn’t too much to ask, isn’t it?

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have two children together; Ava is seven and Deacon is three. Witherspoon is asking for full custody of the children with visitation rights for Phillippe. She is also asking for exclusive use of their home.

Rock Concert Of Lucy Lawless

lucy-lawless.jpgShe may be better known as Xena, Warrior Princess but acting isn’t all Lucy Lawless was born to do. At 38 she has chosen to launch her singing career. She had her first rock concert last night at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood. Some were surprised that it was completely sold out.

Fans of Lawless aren’t the least bit surprised. They’ve known that she can sing from the episodes where she sang on Xena. She has also played Rizzo on the Broadway production of Grease in 1997. And she joined the Celebrity Duets show last year where she made it to the final three.

In fact it is because of Celebrity Duets that Lawless decided to try for a singing career. She enjoyed the live performances very much and missed them after the show ended. She decided to take a chance and have a concert. Looks like she’s off to a new career. Just goes to show you that age really is no barrier to talent – and great fans.

Commitment Phobe

Ellen DeGeneres had Cameron Diaz as a guest on her show last Tuesday. When she asked the Charlie’s agent star if she had any plans of marrying lover Justin Timberlake, she answered with a definitive negative saying that she is a commitment phobe. Commitment is something she fears too much to ever get into. She doesn’t even want a pet.

When Ellen DeGeneres asked Justin Timberlake if she should already pick out a bridesmaid dress, he said she can go ahead and reserve it but then she’d better plan on staying her current size for the next fifteen years. In short – not any time soon. Cameron Diaz has not proposed. They are not engaged nor have they broken up.

Wise choice, Cameron. In a city where marriages can last as short as a mere 48 hours it is actually healthy to be wary of making a commitment. As Cameron Diaz says, she and Justin Timberlake are “kinda like married” already.
Though Cameron Diaz isn’t planning to walk down the aisle, she has no qualms about catching the bouquet. She sees it as a sport so ladies beware. She really wants that bouquet. She already has 12 in her “ego collection” as she calls it. Her strategy: it’s all about positioning. You have to be in the right place at the right time; nothing more.

Cameron Diaz isn’t the only one who has no plans of joining the state of matrimony. The Queen of Talk, Oprah Winfrey, is another advocate of staying out of that arena so Cameron Diaz is in good company.
