If you’re looking to sell your home without too much effort, you’ll be grateful that you don’t have one of these very expensive celebrity properties that only a handful of people in the world can afford. But for other rich and famous people, owning one of these massive mansions that cost tens of millions of dollars or more might be worth the trouble.
If you’ve ever wondered who has the biggest and most expensive homes in America, here are three celebrities with the most expensive homes and properties.
The Playboy Mansion
One of the most well-known properties in the U.S. is the Playboy Mansion. Formerly owned by the late Hugh Hefner, the Playboy Mansion was known as a place for hedonistic indulgences and excess. These ideas transfer over to the expansiveness and price of this property as well.
According to Francesca Bacardi, a contributor to Eonline.com, the Playboy Mansion is worth an estimated $100 million. But when you pay for the mansion, you’re getting much more than just a large home. On this property, you’ll also find an additional guest home that is fitted with four more rooms to add to the 29 rooms that already make up the main house. And within that main house, you’ll also find things like a wine cellar, a kitchen meant only for catering for events and parties, and a full tennis court.
Oprah’s $100 Million California Estate
While this estate was bought for a mere $50 million in 2001, Shelby Slauer, a contributor to Business Insider, shares that another property that is worth around $100 million is Oprah’s California estate in Montecito.
This 65-acre area of land contains a 23,000-square-foot home as well as a barn, a lake, orchards, a guest home, and more. While the main home only contains six bedrooms, it has 14 bathrooms, which makes it perfect for entertaining. Add to this a tennis court, wine cellar, and both an indoor and outdoor theatre and you could experience one amazing party on this property.
Bill Gates’ $125 Million Property In Washington State
With the most expensive property on our list, Bill Gates and his Washington State compound take the cake.
Coming in at a whopping $125 million, Louisa Ballhaus, a contributor to SheKnows.com, shares that this estate contains around 66,000-square-feet of living space. Within this 66,000-square-feet, you’ll find 24 bathrooms, six kitchens, and no fewer than seven bedrooms. Outside of the home is a man-made stream stocked with various species of fish and lots of green space to roam and explore. As for some of the technology included in the home, you’ll be tracked by sensors that know when you’re entering and exiting a room so that the temperatures will be adjusted for you and the lights will turn on automatically.
When it comes to living large, these celebrities really know what they’re doing.
