With the amount of attention that celebrities get, it’s a pretty well known fact that a majority of them really like their privacy. Since they can’t get any privacy when they’re out and about either working or doing the normal everyday errands that any person does no matter their status, it’s easy to see why celebrities spend so much money and time making sure that their homes are the relaxing havens they need them to be, and that they offer the maximum amount of security possible.
The biggest factor in keeping a celebrity home safe from prying eyes lies in the landscaping. Curtains do the trick, but trees, shrubbery, and fences do the trick a whole lot better. Let’s take a look at the best uses of landscape design in celebrity homes.
They Start With the Acreage
There isn’t a lot that is more effective at keeping unwanted visitors far away from your home than a whole lot of land. What better landscape design can you have than that this is the wilderness? Such is the case for Carole King who lives on 129 acres in the middle of Idaho. King spent $16 million on the property, but you really can’t put a price on privacy or the beauty of the great outdoors.
They Use the Plants to Their Advantage
Some celebrities don’t have the luxury to move to the middle of Idaho like Carole King, so they’re forced to choose a home in California on a lot less land, surrounded by a lot more people. This isn’t a bad thing, though. Many celebrities still get the privacy they need by using the plants to block out noise and unwanted visitors.
Plants, trees and shrubbery are practically unlimited in their variety, so no matter a celebrities preference, they can use whatever they want to facilitate their needs and purposes. Not only the the plants give them the much needed solitude, they also do many other wonders for the soul.
They Put Up a Fence
When acreage or pretty plants don’t do the trick, celebrities turn to the centuries old way to keep out trespassers. They put up a fence. This is seen a lot in Malibu. The highway is right on the ocean, so the celebrities who live there have no other option but to put up a giant wall to separate themselves from the outside world.
Privacy laws in Malibu have recently changed and the beaches once exclusive to celebrity power have been opened up to the public. Looks like the stars will have to find a new beach. Either that, or start hiring people to build sand castle moats and walls right outside their ocean front doors aimed at keeping the public out.
