When you see celebrities on TV, in magazines, or walking the red carpet, it’s easy to start comparing yourself to the way they look. And while many celebrities have been very open in recent years about how it takes a whole team of people to make them look like this, it’s still natural to want to get those same looks yourself when you’re at home.
So to help you make your hair look like you’ve had a whole team of people working on it, here are three tips to get your hair to look like a celebrity’s.
Give Your Hair Some Help
One reason many celebrities have hair that looks too good to be true is because it is! So many celebrities give their hair some help through things like weaves, wigs, and extensions. Luckily, these are all things that you can do to your own hair as well.
When planning to give your hair some help by adding hair that isn’t naturally yours, Courtney Cachet, a contributor to the Huffington Post, just suggests that you stick with colors that look natural and pleasing on you. And if you’re not sure you’re ready for the commitment of permanent extensions, you can always opt for clip-ins, which can give you a lot more freedom and flexibility to get celeb-styled hair on an as-needed basis.
Don’t Use Shampoo Everyday
While most celebrities seem to have hair that always shiny and never frizzy, many people struggle with reaching this fine balance in their everyday lives. One habit you can change that will have a big impact on both of these factors is the number of times you wash your hair.
According to Lesley Rotchford, a contributor to Women’s Health magazine, washing your hair too often can strip it of its natural oils and leave your hair looking dull and unruly. To combat this, try not using shampoo everyday or every time you take a shower. By skipping a day or two, you can let the natural oils of your hair really sink in and do their job. When you do choose not to shampoo, you can still shower and massage your scalp as if you were shampooing so you can shift those oils down to where they’re needed.
Keep Your Leave-In Conditioner In The Fridge
One great way to have amazing hair is to use the right products, like a leave-in conditioner. But to make this product work even better, Alexis Farah, a contributor to Self.com, recommends putting your leave-in conditioner in the fridge when you’re not using it.
By doing this, the coolness of the product will really seal in the cuticle of the hair and make it shiny and smooth. Especially if you have frizzy hair, this trick can really work wonders to make your hair look as sleek as the stars.
If you want your hair to look like a celebrity stylist has been working on you, consider using the tips mentioned above to get these same kinds of results at home.
